Rurimaru (瑠璃丸) is a rare, golden beetle. It is the Shogun's pet. It was introduced in Episode 65, when it had somehow escaped, and the Shinsengumi were ordered by the Bakufu to search for it. Meanwhile, the Yorozuya were out looking for beetles to sell at a high price, and sadly, Rurimaru met its fate and is accidentally killed by Gintoki's sandal.
