Pandemonium (パンデモニウム), also known as Pandemonium Larvae, is one of the Shikigami's favourite foods. It is described as "sort of like a snack" by Gedoumaru in Episode 197, much to Shimura Shinpachi's distress and bewilderment as he was in a contest in which he had to eat one. Pandemonium-san can also alternate gender at will, from a male with a face similar to that of a Behelit (from the manga "Berserk"), to a pretty female who successfully manages to make Shinpachi lose his identity as the straight man for the episode.

The Pandemoniums later returned as a food supply for the rebels, which Shinpachi refused to eat one. As a familiar-looking female human-faced Pandemonium appears, Shinpachi decided to eat the creatures. At least one Pandemonium individual interferes Kondo's peaceful reunion with Tae by copying her face, which opts Tae to angrily kick both of them.
