Lesson 555 is the 555th chapter of the Gintama series.

On the rooftop of an Edo building, Katsura admitted to Gintoki that although he was surprised about the revelation of Shouyou being Utsuro, it had explained the glimpses Katsura had of the vacant stares Shouyou sometimes held. Katsura concluded that despite their sensei's past and motives, Shouyou was still the sensei they cherished and Katsura now knew what he must do. As Gintoki believed that Utsuro was not Shouyou but a monster that even Shouyou couldn't defeat, Katsura assured him that Gintoki wouldn't have to kill his master again.

Meanwhile, in a meeting between the Harusame and Utsuro, Utsuro stated that as a result of the Senate's death, the pirates could do anything as they pleased, yet they insisted on being ruled by Utsuro. Umibouzu suddenly arrived and mocked them for their hypocrisy and siding with the Tendoushuu. With Utsuro claiming to pay him for the hiring, Umibouzu revealed that the other had destroyed the base, having believed that the hunter may have a tough time killing his son. He stated that the true reason he agreed to help was that he didn't want anyone else to kill Kamui but him.

Back on Earth, Kagura took one last look at the Yorozuya building before leaving with the remnants of the Kiheitai, determined to save Kamui from their father. Shinpachi and Gintoki rushed to the Yorozuya to see a request for leave of absence on the desk. Eventually, the two and Sadaharu also left similar letters, promising to return in full.
