Lesson 508 is the 508th chapter of the Gintama series.

In Iga, the Yorozuya and the Shogun were shocked to see spacecrafts of the Harusame coming to their place. Meanwhile, on one of those spacecrafts, Abuto reported to Kamui that Okita, Soyo-hime and everyone else had, presumably, died after the crash.

On another spaceship, Takasugi claimed that they came to show their appreciation for Hattori's help in assassinating the Shogun. However, it was pointed out that Hattori planned to borrow Iga's strength and make them take all the blame in the assassination of the Shogun, which meant that he had used the Shinobi to create a pretext for Hitotsubashi becoming the next Shogun.

Before Takasugi could order the Kiheitai to destroy Iga and kill Hattori, all of the spacecrafts exploded in midair, implying that the latter might have set up bombs in them earlier. As Ayame ran to the spacecrafts, Momochi ordered the other shinobi to help him.

While so, the Shogun ran away, believing that the fighting would stop if he died. Gintoki stopped him, saying that they had no plans to run away from their own fights. Right then, a spacecraft crashed above Shinpachi and Kagura, making a large rock falling towards the former. Nevertheless, the Shogun stopped it by throwing a kunai, much to the Yorozuya's surprise.

Above the wreckage of the spaceship, Abuto had finally found out that the real Shogun was still alive.

Characters in order of appearance

  • Sakata Gintoki: (Referring to Takasugi Shinsuke) That's who those guys are. Even if the Shogun dies, they won't stop. Even if the ones who are politically in power change, they won't stop. If you want to stop them, then the only way to do it is to stop their breathing.
  • Sakata Gintoki: (To Tokugawa Shige Shige) But one thing I can say for sure that even if you try to run away from your own fight, we've got no plans to run from ours.
