Lesson 502 is the 502nd chapter of the Gintama series. It is also the first chapter of the Shogun Assassination Arc.
Summary[]
In the Edo castle, Shige Shige was deep in thoughts, completely unaware of Soyo-hime calling him until she yelled. Noting that her tea for him had got cold, she mentioned about her brother's allies gradually leaving him after their uncle's death. Lamenting on his inability to save the country, the Shogun wished he could drink Soyo-hime's tea simply as an older brother without any thoughts about the world or the nation. Though, Ayame broke his tea cup with a kunai, revealing that it had already been poisoned.
As a result of the failed assassination attempt, the Oniwabanshuu was gathered and a plan to move the Shogun to Kyou was come up. However, Hattori refused to take part in it, stating that killing a Shogun was more interesting than protect one. After Sacchan left, he gave the last copy of Jump to Gintoki. Later, while the Shinsengumi and the Oniwabanshuu were planning on disguising as the Shogun, the Yorozuya was found in the decoys' lines, yet Gintoki claimed that he only joined as per Hattori's request.
Meanwhile, in Nobu Nobu's castle, he spotted some spies around his estate, noting to himself that he could take Shige Shige's head soon with his "new limbs." Right when he met his "new limbs," which turned out to be Kamui and Takasugi, Nobu Nobu was instantly knocked out by the former, who mistook him as the current Shogun. While so, Takasugi claimed Nobu Nobu to be another of his limbs.
