During a business trip on the Nanjing planet, Sakamoto discussed about coming into fashion, citing a bag with 50 million yen inside as the Kaientai's latest product. On the boat, he urged the workers to stock up the bags, which were said not to have money inside. Despite Mutsu's worry about them being ordinary bags, Sakamoto claimed that it is a merchant's job to draw value out of a normal object. As he left, Mutsu recalled of their past.
At Snack Smile, Sakamoto gave away the bags to the hostesses there as a way to impress Oryou, who threw a rock at his head in return. Mutsu, under Gintoki's instruction, arrived the bar, stuffed him into a bag and had it thrown into the ocean. Later, at a pub, she and Gintoki talked about Sakamoto and the first time the latter met him, in which he vomited at Gintoki and Takasugi due to being seasick.
As for Mutsu, she first saw him while the latter was floating on the ocean. He was picked up by a slave ship of the space pirate group Chidori, whose vice leader was Mutsu. She recalled how she was forced to be a pirate leader, despite her wish to be a normal girl. However, she also claimed that it was Sakamoto who bought the whole fleet and herself from the Chidori.
Meanwhile, on the ocean, Sakamoto was picked up by the remnants of the Chidori, and he vomited into the leader's face instantly.
