As 5 members of the Shimatsuya approached Hattori's house, where Ayame was hid and used as a trap, Hattori insisted the Yorozuya to get back there. Meanwhile, Gintoki and Shinpachi were looking for goods in a store, completely reluctant to go back. Although they claimed to have sent Kagura and Sadaharu back, the two were actually sleeping outside Ayame's room.
As Kagura switched to sleeping next to Ayame, the first punisher of the Shimatsuya (who kills people by putting bombs under their pillows) came. Nevertheless, since he could not lift Kagura's pillow to put the bomb in, the bomb was left on Kagura, who kept the bomb while rolling after the assassin. In the end, the bomb exploded, with him being the only casualty.
While Hattori was carrying Kagura back, Shinpachi returned, as another Shimatsuya member appeared behind him. Even though this assassin was famous for switching his victims' T-shirts' sizes into the smaller ones, he ended up defeated by himself due to a confusion in Shinpachi's and his T-shirt sizes.
Gintoki finally returned after taking chuperts out of Hattori's fridge. Everyone initially decided to share the chuperts, but they quickly got involved in an argument over their flavours. Two more assassins turned up from the pool. They had changed the chuperts' opening so as to get everyone into an argument. However, as they fled, Gintoki and Hattori shot chuperts towards them and defeated them later.
