Kitaooji Daigorou is a junior school child, he was first shown when he picked up Madao.
Background[]
He is the only child with in the Kitaooji family, he lives happily with his parents until his father became a MADAO after he lost his job as a skilled carpenter. Daigorou couldn't stand seeing his father, so he never returned home until sunset. He would spend most of his time in the park waiting for his mother from work. When Daigorou and his mother went back home, they saw his father in bed with another woman. It crushed Daigorou small hope for the return of his caring father.
Appearance[]
Habitual sniffing caused by nose snot that keeps dripping from his nostril, Daigorou appears to be a typical olden-era Japanese kid from a lower-class family. Dressed in well-worn clothes, his shaven pate has a clump of black hair fringing his face, and a ring of hair encircling his head, topped off with a short pony-tail.
Personality[]
He appeared to be a slow witted and dull a person but he is actually very sharp witted and acts very much like an adult, he claims that he doesn't need Calcutta or Mesogear when Gintoki offered but he wants Bourbon and Shinpachi called him hard-boiled.
Relationships[]
- Hasegawa Taizou: Daigorou found Madao in the park begging for alcohol. Daigorou spent most of his summer observing him and eventually keeping him as a family member. Hasegawa was willing to sabotage his job interview for the sake of Daigorou and his family. Daigorou realize Hasegawa that he is the kindest and best samurai and was able to bring back Daigorou lost faith.
Story[]
A junior school kid who first appeared in Episode 188, his class was scheduled to present a 'show-and-tell' session detailing what they did during the summer vacation. Daigorou presented his observation diary in which he documented how he picked up the homeless Madao from the park, gave him a home, and eventually witnessed how Madao bloomed to become a responsible person, and even go for job interviews.
However, after reading his diary out loud in class, it turned out that the observation diary that was supposedly his vacation homework was done by his mother.
He made a return in Episode 216, where his teacher told every student to research job aspect for their future. Daigorou encounters Yorozuya.
Trivia[]
- The pre-show vertical sub-headings gave out not-so-subtle hints about a certain ninja and his favourite catchphrase being involved in this episode. It turned out that Takeuchi Junko, seiyuu for Uzumaki Naruto (Naruto series) and Gon Freecss (HunterXHunter) was the seiyuu for Daigorou.
