Ikeda Asaemon

Also known as Ikeda Asaemon or 17th Ikeda Yaemon. She recieves this title after the death of her adoptive brother and decapitation of "Ikeda Asaemon".

Background

It is stated by Asaemon’s biological father that her biological mother decided to have her before the war. It is implied that she abandoned Asaemon and her father and is currently still alive somewhere. It is also stated that Asaemon’s father hit Asaemon during their life together.

Asaemon lives with her father until he tries to “sell” her to save his life. Gintoki then lets himself be captured in Asaemon’s stead, resulting in her adoption into the Ikeda clan by the 16^th Ikeda Yaemon, making her an adoptive sister of the 18^th Ikeda Yaemon.

During his jail time, Asaemon makes a promise with Gintoki to cut off his head when she became a great executioner so to not die until that time.

Sometime later, 18^th goes into a killing spree inside the jail to prove 16^th that he was worthy of the 17^th title. 16^th tries to hit him as a punishment for his actions but Asaemon protects him. Thanks to the incident, Asaemon is chosen as the 17^th by 16^th.

When the Ikeda clan discovered that 16^th was the one to let the prisoners escape, 18^th planned to make Asaemon a traitor. Asaemon is chosen as the decapitator of 16^th and after his death, she leaves the clan as a “traitor”, making 18^th succeed her as the clan’s head.
