Hanako is a newcomer to 'Snack Smile' Hostess Club, Hanako's ambition was to become a dancer, leading her to leave Osaka for Edo, only to get duped by the leader of the Dream Catcher Cult. After the Dream Catcher incident, Tae's violent nature starts to rub off on her.

Background[]
Hanako came to the city from Osaka to fulfill her dream of becoming a dancer. However, she was scammed by the Dream Catcher Cult into losing a lot of money. She began to work at Snack Smile but attempted to end her life by jumping of a bridge due to her stress and financial troubles.
Story[]
As Hanako tries to kill herself Otae kicks her and launches her back to the ground. Hanako is taken to Tae's house and Kagura and Otae learn from Hanako that she has been conned by two people, who belong to a bizarre cult, and lost all of her money. The gang, along with Otae, agree to help her get the money she lost from the cult. That cult gathers believers who chase their dreams and wants to grant their wishes. The group joins the cult, showing however some signs of doubt, as to how true the priest's words and actions are. He fulfills Gin's and Kagura's wishes and they quickly pledge faith to him. Shinpachi and Otae are not easily fooled, so they go along with Hanako to spy on the priest's room from the rooftop. Unfortunately, the rooftop collapses and Otae with Hanako are captured. Shinpachi makes a run for it and informs the rest of the Yorozuya about the situation. The crowd of believers decided to punish the Hanako and Otae's betrayal with death. Gin stabs something through the roof and it appears that a ninja was behind all of this. The ninja makes a run for it, while the priest suffers the infuriated crowd's anger and frustration.

Personality[]
Hanako is a very naive person making her a prime target for scams. She struggles with adapting to city life and often trembles or breaks down in tears. After being helped by Tae she beings to act more confident and aggressively.
Relationships[]
- Shimura Tae: Hanako is deeply thankful to Tae for her help but also slightly afraid of her. Tae is somewhat annoyed by Hanako's weak nature but also wants to help her.
- Oryou: Oryou showed concern for her when she attempted suicide. They are often seen together when the Snack Smile staff is gathered.
