Gintama 2: The Law is Surely There to be Broken (銀魂2 掟は破るためにこそある, Gintama 2: Okite wa Yaburu Tame ni Koso Aru) is a Japanese jidaigeki action comedy film written and directed by Yūichi Fukuda, starring Shun Oguri and based on the manga series of the same name written and illustrated by Hideaki Sorachi. It is a sequel to the live action Gintama movie and was released on August 17, 2018 in Japan by Warner Bros. Pictures.


Introduction[]

Gintoki Sakata (Shun Oguri), Shinpachi Shimura (Masaki Suda) and Kagura (Kanna Hashimoto) run short of money while running their Yorozuya office. They are not able to pay their rent and decide to do part-time work. Whenever they go for part-time work, they meet Shogun-sama. Around that time, the special forces Shinsengumi, led by Isao Kondo (Kankuro Nakamura) is divided among itself. The internal conflict of Shinsengumi connects the conspiracy involving Shogun-sama.

A web drama series which is used as tie-in to the movie is produced exclusively for the dTV Channel at August 18.It consists of episodes which are adapted from various chapters such as Lesson 263,Lesson 264,Lesson 202 and Lesson 237, Anime episode such as Episode 175, Episode 119 and Episode 153.
