There Are Lines Even Villains Can't Cross and Gintama Final Ending Scamming Trial are the two segments of 367th and (supposed) final episode of the Gintama anime series.

Part A[]

Introduction[]

The first half continues on the Silver Soul Arc as Gintoki in disguise was captured in Yoshiwara Paradise.

Plot[]

Hijikata follows the women and Gintoki to Yoshiwara, where he runs into Seita and Hinowa, who tells him that the town is now a government-recognised tourist attraction after sheltering civilians from the war two years ago. She added that Yoshiwara is now run by Tsukuyo, who uses her authority to punish men who disrespect women.

Gintoki, still in his Takasugi disguise, was captured and tied up by Tae and Sacchan for violating Kyuubei's modesty. Sacchan also wants to torture "Takasugi" into revealing Gintoki's location, as Hijikata watches in disbelief from the outside. Tsukuyo's method of punishment is well-suited for a red light district. She dips Gintoki in lotion and puts him on a conveyor belt, where he is "served" by a group of old ladies.

After one round, Gintoki appears to have lost interest in both women but still asks questions about boobs, so the women decide to make him go for two more rounds. Two rounds later, Gintoki has attained enlightenment but apparently still waxes lyrical about boobs. Sacchan asks Tsukuyo to stimulate his lust slightly by allowing him to grope her.

Tsukuyo remembers Hinowa telling her that she could have gone after Gintoki after he left the city. However, Tsukuyo responded that she stayed behind in Yoshiwara despite feeling upset at the changes, so that she could watch the endings and new beginnings; when Gintoki one day decides to return, she wanted to share with him the stories so that he could walk with them again. She asks Gintoki once again for his whereabouts, but Gintoki presses the button on the conveyor belt and heads in for another round.

Colonel Sanders reappears this time and the women beat him up. Hijikata runs in and reveals that the Colonel was actually Yamazaki, who got captured by Gintoki and let him escape.

After escaping Yoshiwara, Gintoki waits alone at a bridge and wonders if he has made the right decision not to reunite with his old friends. He turns his head when he hears someone calling for Yoruzuya and sees Shinpachi. As Shinpachi passes by behind him, he calls his name but stops himself. Suddenly, he is surrounded by a bunch of sword-carrying thugs and Shinpachi decides to intervene.

Gintoki suddenly calls "cut" and stopped the anime as when Shinpachi was trying to save him, leading to part B of this episode.

Part B[]

Introduction[]

The second half is a completely original segment with most the recurring characters attending the “Fake ending trial”, with Gintoki as the judge.

Plot[]

Gintoki explains the reason for the anime's abrupt ending. Through the court trial, he finds several characters, such as Hijikata, Umibouzu and Hasegawa guilty for wasting episodes or massively altering their character design. The trial ends with a letter from Sorachi Hideaki and Gintoki finds him innocent, despite being the one who could not end the manga series on time.

The future of the anime is uncertain as it has not been revealed yet as to how the anime series would continue after this episode.
