Plot[]

Sadaharu runs alone towards the terminal, and thinks back about how Ane and Mone gave him all of their remaining energy and told him to use it to protect himself and his loved ones. When he finally reached the terminal, he was attacked by Hitsugi. Gintoki slices off Hitsugi's arm, but the ground below Sadaharu collapses. Kagura and Shinpachi fail to grab him; Gintoki jumps off the building but Sadaharu smiles and kicks him away. They watch helplessly as Sadaharu falls into the Altana gate. Utsuro confronts Gintoki, but realises that the Altana surges have calmed down slightly. Kagura and Shinpachi find out that Sadaharu was still alive and struggling to hold back the Altana. They are determined to take back the world where Sadaharu could live normally as the Yoruzuya's pet.

Gintoki uses the sword that Umibouzu gave him to weaken Hitsugi and the other Naraku immortals. He manages to stab Utsuro in the right eye with the sword, but the immortal pulls it out and crushes it, stating that he would be able to reconstruct his body as long as he could absorb the Altana from Earth. Gintoki throws a fragment of the Altana sword into Utsuro's left eye, temporarily blinding him.

Umibouzu fires a weapon at him and tells Utsuro that, together with Harusame 7th Division and Shinsengumi, they would defeat him for good. The Shinsengumi charge forward to attack him before his eyes recover, but Utsuro kills them with one blow. He walks slowly towards Yamazaki and explains that he has had his eyeballs gouged out that he has learnt to sense his surroundings even without his sight. He slowly passes by Yamazaki and slits his throat. Kondou attacks Utsuro from behind, but Utsuro stabs the Shinsengumi chief through his own body. Hijikata and Sougo attack him and Utsuro commends them for their swordsmanship; however, they could no longer defeat him now that his eyes have healed.

Abuto commands the Yato to fire Altana crystal beams at Utsuro but the immortal easily dodges and cuts them down. Kamui grabs onto Utsuro while Umibouzu fires his arm weapon at Utsuro. But Utsuro sacrificed his own arm to evade the attack and destroys the weapon before Umibouzu has had the chance to fire it the second time. Kagura and Kamui attack but he throws a sword at them; Kamui is stabbed in the chest while trying to protect his sister. Shinpachi watches as Utsuro cuts down his allies and sees their bodies strewn across the battlefield; he finds himself unable to move his body as Utsuro approaches him. He remembers his father's last words to him and his sister - to never lose the sword within their soul. Shinpachi fights Utsuro, who praises his swordsmanship, but still manages to hold his sword against Shinpachi. However, he drops the sword as his hand started to disintegrate. The Altana outbursts were gradually being weakened. Shinpachi and Kagura land some attacks on him, but Utsuro said that he still had enough Altana left in him to finish the fight. Despite his words, Utsuro has started to bleed from the wounds inflicted earlier as his body gradually fails to regenerate. He realises that Gintoki has earlier thrown fragments of Altana crystals from the sword into his eye and the incompatible Altana was spreading through his bloodstream. Gintoki remarks that he would not let the effort and hopes of the people who fought him go to waste.
