Plot[]

Ougai lies on an empty battlefield, defeated with his horn cut off by another Dakini warrior. He asks his opponent, once hailed as Dakini's greatest warrior, where he was going after abandoning their tribe. His opponent comments that he did not want to kill anymore; he wanted to see what kind of flowers would bloom from the lives that he spared. Ougai remarks that his opponent has changed drastically since being infected by a parasitic plant. His opponent insists that he has not changed, but has instead bloomed a flower of his own, before walking away. In present day, the Dakini pulls the shutters on his florist shop.

In the building, Katsuo and his men attack the Shinra warriors, giving Gintoki and Jirocho the opportunity to defeat Sotatsu and the remaining Shinra army. After the defeat, Pirako and Katsuo argue about who would take over the gang, and Jirocho favours his daughter. Katsuo tries to have a flashback of his own first meeting with Jirocho, but it was rejected by Jirocho, leading to more arguments. Seeing the commotion, Gintoki comments that he should have stabbed Jirocho too, but the older man said that the town would not calm down even if he dies, as the youngsters who thrived in the hustle and bustle would keep it alive. He flashes back to the Joui Wars, where he carried a dying Tatsugorou, who asks Jirocho what kind of a place their town would become in the future. Jirocho replies that they would become stubborn geezers lecturing youngsters in their town, to which Tatsugorou replies that he could not wait for that day to come. Back on the rooftop, Otose sees an illusion of Tatsugorou and the two of them smile silently.

Back in the alleyway, Ougai stumbles his way out to the main street, only to see his Dakini army flee from their attackers from all direction. He looks up and see the Shinra army retreating after their leader was defeated. He thinks back to the words his opponent told him and wonders about the kind of flowers that were growing on Earth.

Jirocho worries that the retreating warriors would regroup with their main force. Gintoki responds that fear is contagious and instructs the group to open up all of Kabukicho's gates to drive out the retreating army, thus spreading fear to the main troop and causing them to withdraw their forces. Jirocho comments that it was a move too reckless even for a gangster like him but Binbokusai replies that only a moron like Gintoki would be capable of saving the world. Most of the army escape, but a group of them was stopped by Ougai, who threatened them to continue fighting. This restored their fighting spirit as they feared Ougai more than they feared the Earthlings. At that moment, Hedoro shows up to apologize to a small flower trampled upon by the army. Ougai recognises him as the opponent that defeated him from years ago. Angered by the loss of the flower, Hedoro sends Ougai and the other warriors flying with just one punch. This causes Gintoki to run away in fear, only to be stopped by Gedomaru, who has summoned a bunch of demons to threaten him into returning to the fight.

Seimei and Douman create the illusion of a large number of ground troops to trick the army into retreating. The Yoruzuya celebrate their victory but Gintoki was instead clinging on to Hedoro's back. In the chaos and confusion caused by Hedoro and Gedomaru, Gintoki accidentally plucks out the flower on Hedoro's head.
