Introduction[]
Plot[]
Enshou and Shijaku are in battle but have reached a stalemate. Shijaku encourages the prince to return to his home planet to his expecting wife. Shortly after, one of Enshou's men inform him that his planet has been ravaged by Utsuro's plot to destroy its Altana reserves, killing his wife and unborn child in the process. He joins Shijaku in the Altana Liberation Army to fight against Tendoushuu's rule.
Shinpachi finds Tae at their father's grave, where she tells him that Shinpachi has grown into a fine samurai who was fighting to protect Edo. Shinpachi insists that he has not changed; he was simply chasing after the samurai that he has met back then and wanted to stay by his side forever. In the meantime, Kagura, Tama and Catherine walk down the streets and are insulted by the people of Edo. Seeking refuge under a bridge, Tama comments that the discrimination against Amantos are getting worse by the day; Catherine said that even if Earth survives the war, there might no longer be a place for them here. Kagura remarks that she has always been an unwanted guest who gradually found her place with the Yoruzuya.
Shinpachi and Kagura are determined to find the Tendoushuu and kill Utsuro before the army makes its move. They find Gintoki in a comic store, commenting about a second Gintama live-action movie. The trio argue about the live-action cast and Sadaharu shows up carrying a piece of paper. However, it did not contain clues about the Bakufu and instead was a photo of an actor. The Yoruzuya are attacked by civilians, before being rescued by Nobume, who tells them that they were the Naraku disguised as townsfolk.
The Naraku attack Shijaku's fleet, who have been ordered not to attack the Earthlings unless provoked, making it seem like the masses were revolting against the army. Nobume said that it was the beginning of an end, as Utsuro puts his plan into action, to die alongside Earth and its people. Atop the empty Bakufu castle, Zenzou watches as fights break out across Edo.
Back at the S.S. Heavenly Bird, the generals of the Altana Liberation Army hear about the Earthlings' attack on their ships and blame Shijaku for withdrawing their troops. However, he trusts in the words and conviction of Nobu Nobu and Sakamoto. He tells Enshou that the Tendoushuu destroyed the planets in a bid to start a war, and it is their responsibility to stop it before he happens. He takes Enshou to meet Nobu Nobu, but Enshou first brings him to a room filled with the Tendoushuu's torn up bodies. Even though he knew that the Tendoushuu could not have not attacked their planets, Enshou allowed the army to believe the Tendoushuu to be their enemies, in order to motivate them to fight the war and to seek closure in revenge. Enshou throws Shinjaku into jail and arrests Nobu Nobu and Sakamoto. Sakamoto warms him to stand down before the samurai unsheathe their swords; Enshou tells them that there would be no war as everything would be over in a blink of an eye, as an army of battleships cover Edo's sky.
Meanwhile, at the pier, Nobume and the Yoruzuya encounter the dead bodies of Naraku soldiers and the Altana Liberation Army. Utsuro emerges from the smoke and flames, and Gintoki launches his attack. A ressurected soldier grabs him; Nobume and the Yoruzuya find themselves surrounded by the zombie-like Naraku soldiers, revived by a few drops of Utsuro's immortal blood. Utsuro asks Gintoki to choose between dying by his hands or dying with the planet; Gintoki chooses to use his sword to crush Utsuro and the army.
