Introduction[edit | edit source]

Sougo now possessed by Maganagi, Gintoki and Kusanagi's chances of winning have dimmed. But with a surprise revelation about Sayaa, the duo may have a chance.

Plot[edit | edit source]

Sougo is now possessed by Masanagi, who remarks that the policeman was the toughest vessel to take over, but with the bond between the strongest sword and the strongest swordsman, he has now obtained unparalleled power over the universe. Hijikata arrives at the scene and threatens to cut him down, but Sougo easily destroys all of Shinsengumi's swords.

Sougo attacks Hijikata but Gintoki interrupts by throwing poop at Hijikata's face. Gintoki is unfazed by the cursed sword, saying that they are up against the dullest sword and the most constipated man. The two resume their fight, with Gintoki confidently avoiding all of Sougo's attack. He mocks the younger man, before correcting himself that he was not actually up against Sougo, as the man's attacks are not so easy to read. Gintoki was about to strike Sougo from behind, but Kusanagi grows limb at the moment of attack. Sougo strikes him back and manages to cut Gintoki's cheek. Sougo's attacks become more precise, with Maganagi commenting that he has absorbed the tactics and experience of his past hosts.

Before Gintoki could react, the scabbard wife intervenes and stands between the two swordsmen, fearing for Sougo's safety. Maganagi kicks her aside and reveals that the scabbard has not forgotten about her husband, as she was actually his daughter Sayaa. His scabbard wife was pregnant with their child when they parted ways and raised Sayaa as a single mother. She was exhausted by the time Maganagi found her and she begged him to allow Kusanagi to meet his daughter at least once. The cursed sword then freed her of her suffering, and was here to fulfill his last promise to her by allowing the family to reunite...in his belly!

Upon finding out the truth, Kusanagi grows agitated and begins to disintegrate. Sougo picks Sayaa up and inserts Maganagi into her. However, Sougo regains control of his body and stops Maganagi from entering the scabbard, in order to finish his fight with Gintoki. Despite losing control of his wielder, Maganagi rejoices that with Kusanagi dead, he has emerged victorious. Gintoki said that a true masterpiece can be reforged over and over again as long as his soul does not break. He sticks Kusanagi into his butthole, feeding his blood to Kusanagi and reviving the dead sword, become the scabbard that protects his sword. Sougo stabs Maganagi into his chest to allow the sword to consume his blood too. As the two men pull the swords out of their bodies, they strike each other again, causing a huge explosion. Kusanagi comments that the two swords have found themselves wonderful scabbards; the cursed sword agrees and disintegrates into dust.

Drained by the long battles, Kusanagi starts to disintegrate too, choosing not to introduce himself to Sayaa as he did not want her to live with the death of a father she has never met; he was satisfied just to see that she had grown into a beautiful scabbard, just like her mother. As Gintoki lays him to rest, he says that some ties can never be severed, at least not by a dull sword like him. Kusanagi thanks the silver-haired man and said that he was glad to have met scabbards like him at the very end.

A few days later, Sougo visits Tetsuko's smith shop, looking to buy a new sword for Sayaa. He noted that the Yoruzuya has been picking up iron dust by from the riverbank since the day of the duel. Tetsuko explained that the iron they picked up was more valuable than pearls and she was going to use it to forge a new sword. He asks her to update him when the sword is ready. Tetsuko responds that the forged sword was going to be the dullest one in the universe. He replies that the sword did not have to cut anything, as he would make sure that the sword and scabbard would never leave each other again.
