Kyuubei is tasked to train and look after a mischievous pet monkey for the shogun
Plot
In the Yagyu House. there are rumors of a "key-person" arriving to train with their clan. This turns out to be a then-nameless monkey, a "key-mon". The monkey is mischiveous and a prankster. Kyubei is tasked by his father Koshinori, in the shogun's stead, to train the monkey as a celebrity so that it may be given to a relative as a gift. Kyubei then goes to Otae's dojo to ask for help. Gintoki, Tae, Shinpachi, and Kagura all brainstorm to come up with a name for the monkey. Kyubei then proceeds to take care of the monkey, later on showing signs of affection to it, even sleeping and taking a bath together. Toujou goes to Yozoroya to ask them to break the news to Kyubei that the shogun is asking for the monkey back, after they've heard of it being tamed. Kyubei suddenly shows up in Yorozuya and hears the news. She said that she was glad as she had performed her duty. The episode ends with Kyubei and the long-named monkey now sleeping separately.
