Ane (阿音), along with her younger twin sister Mone and the Inugami, Sadaharu and Komako were in charge of protecting the Koryuumon, the largest Dragon Hole (龍穴, ryuuketsu), which directs the energy flow of the planet. The Amanto, however, built the Terminal right on top of it, driving the sisters out of business. Since then, Ane has been working as a hostess at 'Snack Smile', where she, along with Shimura Tae, attracts the most customers by using her priestess image, something her sister disapproves of.

Appearance[]

Ane has long, black hair reaching the middle of her back, tied at the end. She has a parted fringe, with a lock of hair on both side of her face, which she also ties sometimes. She is always seen to wear a typical priestess clothing, with red hakama and a white haori. She also wears a necklace with a single magatama.

Personality[]

Ane think very lowly of men, placing them inferior to dogs. Ane is shown to be fiercely competitive as seen during her money-raising race with Otae when she resorted to blackmailing her customer, Matsudaira Katakuriko of all people, into spending more money or she'd tell his wife. Even though she bitterly argues with her sister, she cares deeply for her and is concerned for her safety. She is also regretful for abandoning Sadaharu and offers to take him back.

Story[]

Inugami Arc[]

Ane and Mone first appear when they saw the news of Sadaharu's sudden growth and quickly rushed to Yorozuya to help. It is then that they reveal the Yorozuya's mascot's true nature and offer their assistance in returning him to normal. After failing to perform the incantation, they resort to throwing a baseball to draw a pentagram while trapping Sadaharu in the middle, changing him back.

Some time later, Ane and Otae got into an argument over how the latter treats the former's customers. The owner of the club then declares a race between the two to see who could gather more money, with the loser having to leave the bar. Otae brings Gintoki and Hasegawa and Ane brings Katakuriko Matsudaira and they two girls force the men to buy expensive food and drink. In the end, both Otae and Ane manage to pass, but at the expense of their costumer's belongings.

Ryugujo Arc[]

Matsudaira took Ane and the other Snack Smile girls (minus Otae) to the Ryugu palace and while there got the report about everyone in Edo turning old.

Silver Soul Arc[]

Ane, Mone, Komako, and Sadaharu work together to use their spiritual power to suppress the Altana lay lines. After being attacked by enemies Ane and Mone give all their power to Sadaharu and tell him to use it for whatever he wants to do. When Sadaharu is running out of power trying to suppress the Altana, Mone and Ane use their powers to consensually extract the life force of the residents of Kabukicho who want to help support the battle and give it to Sadaharu.

When Sadaharu fell into a coma from overusing his powers she and Mone told Kagura that they did not know how to wake him up. She and Mone told Gintoki about the different Altana gates across the country and drew him a map of all the ones they knew of.[1]
